Since I was a child, I always adored animals, and I was always worried about them.
Although all this, deciding to study veterinary medicine was not easy for me. Although I have never doubted my vocation.
Veterinary medicine is becoming more important as many people are learning and acquiring a more humanitarian-minded about their animals, and integrating their pets as part of their family. This has greatly increased the demand for veterinary doctors, and the best thing is that this leads to more competition and greater demands on the part of the owners of our patients.
It is known that every year the university market increases, this as a result of the above. But unfortunately, this is not synonymous with quality.
I would like to achieve in Chile have a greater knowledge and responsibility in relation to our profession that has grown significantly in recent years, a long way off meeting the complete needs of our patients.
There is a need to expand, not only in Santiago veterinary doctors, specialists, and higher technologies are needed. Foul control as there are unscrupulous people who pose as veterinarians.
Well, there are many things to improve. We as future veterinarians, we need to get as much of knowledges and tools. Take our vocation responsibly because we will have the ability to educate and work for continue advancing

A country I'd like to visit
Honestly, I'd like to visit all places of Chile and learn from the vast and varied culture that exists, because it is too different between towns and cities, in the highlands, valleys or the coast. The variety of customs and roots make Chile an extremely interesting for my country. I love everything that has to do with folklore, above all, I love the traditional dances of each region, some dances are ceremonial and other very happy and colorful. I know that someday I'll go Chile end to end, and I will know even small and remote villages.
A foreign country I would like to know, is France. When I was in school, I had French lessons. I liked both the language, which also went to a workshop.
What I know France, is because my teacher told me about as everyday life, the beautiful landscapes and places that might like it.
In France, I would like to visit places that are icons for art (the Louvre museum would be the first). I would like to try all the local foods, walk the streets and see the great architectural structures
I dream of living in France, learn the language very well and study there. Because it is here where the first school of veterinary medicine was created.

Why you wanted to be a vet
It's a little hard to say why I decided to study this
career.
I was born in the countryside and was always by my house
pets. Rabbits, cats, dogs, birds and chickens. And many times, not just mine,
also neighborhood or some familiar pets. Therefore, I always had the
closeness and concern for the welfare of animals.
Sometimes I thought about studying music. But I decided that
music would be just a hobby.
The university has been the gateway to discover the many
ways you could bring in veterinary medicine. The university is also home to
many different people with varied tastes and thoughts. At this time, I have
found good friends, we shared with them and also the study of other good
moments.
I like to work in clinic, but could not choose between the
large animal clinic or clinic for small animals.

I'm Natalia Núñez Benavides, I was born in Santa Cruz, located in
sixth region of Chile, 29 march 1993. I’m Chilean woman, I’m 21 years-old and I live in
Santiago.
At elementary school I studied at Island Of Yaquil school, in the town where I live. Then, I completed my high school studies at Manquemavida college, Santa Cruz. Now, I'm studying Veterinary Medicine at University of Chile, Santiago.
It is for that reason that I live most of the time in Santiago with my sister and my brother. She also studying at U. of Chile and he studying in high school. We rent a department in Santiago center. Some weekends I travel to Island of Yaquil, where I lived with my all family. There, only live my mother for the week. She is teacher in the school of the town, reason for not live in Santiago. My father travels all the weekend.
I love music and all the musical instruments. When I studies at Manquemavida college, I learned to play violin, keyboard and saxophone. Also, I played the guitar and sang in a group the folk music, and sometimes I danced to other groups.
